Where We Help
Best Mates supports individuals across the UK who are facing a wide range of life challenges.
Every situation is different, but many people reach out to us during one of the following experiences.
Mental Health Struggles
We support individuals experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, persistent worry or difficulty coping day to day. Sometimes it’s not a diagnosis, just a feeling that things are becoming too heavy to carry alone.
Depression and Low Mood
When motivation drops, hope feels distant and everyday life becomes harder than it should be, having someone who understands can make a real difference. We offer space for open, honest conversation without judgement.
Grief and Bereavement
Loss changes everything. Whether it is recent or long-standing, grief can feel isolating. We provide understanding from those who have experienced loss themselves and know how complex that journey can be.
Trauma and Distressing Events
For those affected by violent incidents, sudden shocks or deeply distressing situations, we offer lived-experience support and gentle guidance towards stability and recovery.
Family Breakdown and Relationship Difficulties
Separation, divorce, conflict or family strain can leave people feeling uncertain and alone. We provide a safe space to talk through what you’re facing and explore healthier ways forward.
Loneliness and Social Isolation
Even when surrounded by people, it is possible to feel disconnected. Our Walk N Talk groups and one-to-one support help rebuild connection in a natural, welcoming way.
Financial Pressure and Life Stress
Money worries and life pressures can affect mental well-being significantly. We help individuals process these stresses and connect them with appropriate support where needed.
Loss of Direction or Purpose
At certain points in life, people can feel stuck or unsure of their next step. Through shared experience and open dialogue, we help individuals regain perspective and confidence.
Life Transitions
Major changes such as career shifts, retirement, relocation or personal upheaval can be destabilising. We offer support during these periods of adjustment.
Veterans Adjusting to Civilian Life
Through our Veterans Programme, we support former service men and women navigating the emotional and practical challenges that can arise after leaving the forces.
Men’s Mental Health
Many men struggle in silence due to stigma or pride. We create safe, informal environments where men can talk openly and feel understood.
Confidence and Self-Worth
Low confidence and self-doubt can impact relationships, work and wellbeing. We help individuals rebuild belief in themselves through connection and shared experience.
Burnout and Emotional Exhaustion
When life feels relentless and energy is depleted, having someone who understands the pressure can help you reset and regain balance.
Specialist Intervention
We are not a counselling or medical service. Our support is rooted in lived experience, understanding and conversation. Where specialist intervention is required, we connect individuals with trusted service partners.
If you are unsure whether we can help, please reach out. We will always guide you in the right direction.
